Nausea is not nauseous!
"Nausea" by Jean-Paul Sartre is an unusual work, permeated and roasted by exestialism to the very crust. The story is about a man with caustic problems in the community. It would seem that they can be avoided, but the very behavior of the character and his entourage show that life does not tolerate when it is rejected. The very direction of exestialism came to me in times of loneliness in real life. And "nausea" relished at that moment. A sad heart found an outlet in this and other books of Sartre, Kierkegaard and other introverts of that generation.
In short, like any other book, this book is not for everybody.
